SHOPPING RETREAT
2nd & 3rd Weekends in November

Every
year during hunting season and before Thanksgiving, people flock
from around the state to Northfield for amazing bargains at
Cabot Hosiery Mills’ famous sock sale and the Barry T.
Chouinard Comfort Colors t-shirt/sweatshirt sale (to benefit the
Northfield Area Hockey Association). Black Diamond Sportswear in
Montpelier also holds their annual blow-out sale at the same time.
A
SWEET MAPLE RETREAT
March – mid
April
(dependent upon Mother
Nature)
There is nothing sweeter
than sugar making in Vermont. As soon as the sap begins to run
in early spring, the ritual begins and our sugarhouse in the
woods becomes the center of activity. Join us for this Vermont
tradition and watch/help as we make Pure Vermont Gold® maple
syrup before your very eyes.
SWEET LABOR DAY RETREAT
Labor Day Sunday
Between
Northfield’s Labor Day Observances’ three day festival and
Randolph’s New World Festival of Music, it’s a hoppin’ good
time! The annual New World Festival, voted
one of “Top Ten Fall Events” year after year by the Vermont
Chamber of Commerce, takes place on Labor Day Sunday from noon to midnight, with some 100 musicians and folk dancers from
Northern New England and Quebec.
Visit them at www.newworldfestival.com.
Northfield sponsors a footrace (Sat) with activities and
live music throughout the weekend— culminating on Monday at
10:30 with the largest parade in the state, in which Ray often drives
his teams of oxen. The guesthouse is just 15 minutes from
Randolph.
